In the Donetsk region, the Security Service of Ukraine has exposed another FSB agent - he turned out to be a 58-year-old archpriest of the Pokrovsky Vicariate of the so-called Moscow Church in Ukraine. According to the SBU, he was spying for the Russian special services, passing on intelligence about the positions of Ukrainian troops to the enemy.
The priest was recruited through his daughter, who lives in Russia. She had previously appealed to Putin to grant Russian citizenship to her mother and sister from Ukraine. After that, an FSB representative approached the cleric and promised to “evacuate” the entire family to Russia in exchange for cooperation.
The archpriest agreed. According to the investigation, he began to actively collect and transmit to the enemy the coordinates of reserve command posts, fortified areas, and logistics hubs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Volnovakha district.
It was at these coordinates that the Russians were preparing strikes with high-precision weapons: aerial bombs, missiles, and artillery. However, Ukrainian counterintelligence discovered and neutralized the agent in time. A mobile phone with evidence of cooperation with the occupiers was seized from him.
The detainee has currently been charged with treason under martial law (Part 2, Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He is in custody. If found guilty, he faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
