The Government of Ukraine is calling on the capital's authorities to quickly prepare a detailed plan for the restoration of the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant (TPP), which was seriously damaged during massive attacks by Russian troops. Prime Minister Yulia Svirydenko announced this during a conversation with journalists, emphasizing the need for specific solutions to ensure stable heat supply to the capital.
According to Svyrydenko, each regional state administration has been tasked with developing a plan to ensure full energy autonomy for the regions. Kyiv should prepare its own plan for the restoration of the Darnytsia CHPP, clearly indicating what is needed for restoration and how much time and resources it will require.
The Prime Minister noted that as of February 13, Kyiv had not yet provided the government with such a plan. The winter of 2025–2026 has been one of the most difficult since Russia's full-scale invasion: the number of drone and missile attacks has increased, and air defense systems have not yet provided full protection.
Svyrydenko stressed that the government is constantly supporting Kyiv and all energy companies in the country in restoring infrastructure after the shelling. At the same time, she called on local authorities to accelerate the preparation of all necessary documents, equipment, and resources for the prompt restoration of the Darnytsia CHP and ensuring stable heat supply to households in the capital.
