The Zaporizhia military commissar will be put on trial for organizing a corruption scheme with combat payments to subordinates.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, as the head of the Zaporizhia OTCC, he sent subordinates close to him to one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegedly to carry out combat missions.
The servicemen were not assigned to positions in the unit, did not participate in battles and were actually in the frontline zone without any reason. They were there as if on vacation, lived according to a free schedule and even had the opportunity to go home for the weekend. However, the servicemen received increased payments and the opportunity to acquire the status of participants in hostilities, the report says.
As a result, seven servicemen who did not participate in hostilities were awarded over 1 million hryvnia in payments.
Now the former military commissar is accused of abuse of office committed during martial law, under this article the maximum term is 12 years.
