The employees of the Dubensky District Territorial Center for Acquisition and Social Support (TCC and JV) reported suspicion of illegal imprisonment and torture the man. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation announced this on June 3.
The incident happened on February 21 in the village of Ivanne Dubensky district. According to the investigation, the military saw a local resident on a bicycle and decided to detain him. To do this, they used tear gas and forcefully pushed a man to a business car.
The victim tried to call for help - he had a signal gun from which he fired in the air. This was angered by the servicemen, and they beat the man after he was lying on the ground. According to experts, he suffered mild injuries.
Under pressure, the detainee was forced to report his personal data, after which he was taken to the shopping center. At the same time, according to the documents, in 2019 it was officially recognized as unfit for military service in peacetime. However, these data were not taken into account - and now the man is mobilized to one part of the Armed Forces in the Rivne region.
The officer and two servicemen are charged with several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
-
Part 1 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 146 - unlawful imprisonment with physical suffering committed by a group of persons without prior conspiracy;
-
Part 1 of Art. 28, Part 1 of Art. 127 - torture for coercion to actions contrary to the will or punishment for the committed.
Sanctions are punished in the form of imprisonment for a term up to six years.
