The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has exposed a military commissar who illegally interfered with the Oberig electronic system and became a dollar millionaire. The official used his official position to create fictitious documents that allowed him to avoid military service.
The official made 138 draft evaders fictitiously unfit for service.
The illegal scheme operated in the Odessa Recruitment Center since July 2023. Then the head of the department began to interfere in the work of the electronic database of the register of military conscripts "Oberig" without authorization and in general "corrected" data on 138 conscripts, fictitiously making them unfit for military service. For his services, the attacker took from 4.5 to 7 thousand dollars and thus managed to earn at least a million dollars. The Bureau noted that they had identified all the people who managed to take advantage of the scheme - some of them had already gone abroad.
During joint activities of the State Bureau of Investigation with employees of the RTCC and the Joint Investigation Team, the evaders who remained on the territory of Ukraine were taken to the recruitment center for updating data and further mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him and removing him from his post is currently being resolved. The man faces up to 15 years in prison. Law enforcement officers are identifying the full range of persons involved in the transaction. In particular, they conducted 14 searches at the place of work and residence of the person involved and participants in the scheme. Procedural actions are continuing.
