The State Bureau of Investigation reported the exposure of a large-scale corruption scheme related to military service evasion. According to the investigation, four members of the military medical commission (MMC) of the Primorsky District Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support of Odessa are suspected of official forgery of documents.
According to the SBI, the doctors, together with a local resident and other participants, organized the illegal issuance of "fake" reports on passing the VLK for conscripts from various regions of Ukraine without their actual presence. One doctor could sign for himself and other members of the commission, which allowed conscripts to receive an illegal deferment from service.
According to the investigation, the services cost those wishing to avoid mobilization 16 thousand US dollars. The exchange of documents and money was carried out through postal items. Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation had already exposed some of the participants in this scheme, and indictments regarding new episodes have already been sent to court.
Four doctors were informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for a penalty of up to three years of restriction of liberty. The procedural management was carried out by the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Field of Defense of the Southern Region.
The investigation emphasizes that exposing such schemes is a priority for the State Bureau of Investigation to protect the state's mobilization and defense capabilities.
