The head of the Council of Reservists of the Land Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko, expressed the opinion that lowering the mobilization age could become a “realistic scenario” in light of the current situation in the country. This statement sparked lively discussions among military experts, politicians, and the public.
"If we find ourselves in a situation where we really have nowhere to draw additional resources for the defense of our country, then lowering the mobilization age is a very real scenario. We will have to mobilize citizens who fall under the reduction of the mobilization age very sharply," Tymochko said.
He believes that if we can close the corruption loopholes for draft evasion, then lowering the mobilization age can be avoided.
Earlier, the OP reported that the States are pressuring Ukraine to lower the mobilization age to 18 years (currently the lower mobilization age in Ukraine is 25 years).
There has also been a recent discussion about the prospect of mobilizing women.
