Law enforcement officers have detained an employee of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine who promised fictitious employment for $10,000 in order to provide a reservation. This was reported by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Defense of the Central Region.
According to the investigation, the suspect offered to help conscripted men get their military registration removed and deferment from conscription through the "Reserve+" system. To do this, he promised fictitious employment at a critically important enterprise.
After receiving an illegal gain of $10,000, the perpetrator was detained and the funds seized as evidence. He was remanded in custody with the possibility of bail.
The prosecutor's office noted that measures are underway to identify and prosecute other persons involved in the crime.
For the offense, the official faces imprisonment for a term of five to ten years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, and confiscation of property.
