The general director of the energy company DTEK, Dmytro Saharuk, said that the shortage of missiles in the air defense system is the main reason for the exacerbation of the energy crisis in Ukraine. He expressed indignation at the fact that for every Ukrainian missile there are 5-6 Russian ones, which makes it difficult to protect the country from possible attacks.
"If we launch 10 missiles, we will need at least 12 missiles in the existing air defense system... Therefore, even if we start to restore and repair, we will not be able to effectively protect the restored units," he emphasized.
Saharuk also criticized the government for underfunding the private sector and inefficient management, which has exacerbated the situation. He noted that the Ukrainian private sector is practically equal to zero due to the lack of capital and support.
"Recovery of one gigawatt of energy requires about 1 billion dollars, regardless of energy sources," he noted.
Sakharuk called for the immediate restoration of energy capacities before the onset of winter and considers it necessary to deploy new generating capacities to ensure the stable operation of the energy system.
