A delegation of Ukraine headed by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak visited the USA, where they held a meeting with the team of Donald Trump's future national security assistant Mike Waltz. During the meeting, issues of security, military assistance and strategic relations between the two countries were discussed. According to the representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, they were "satisfied" with the results of this conversation.
"The meeting was supposed to be an introduction and greeting for both sides to get to know each other and start developing personal relationships before Trump takes office in January. The meeting with Waltz and Vance was long and meaningful, and the Ukrainian side was satisfied with how everything went," the source said.
From Ukraine, in addition to Yermak, Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Boev, adviser to the head of the OP Darina Zarivna and Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyridenko were present at the negotiations.
From Trump - future vice president JD Vance, special representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg and national security adviser Mike Waltz.
After the talks in Washington, Yermak briefly stopped by Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, where he met with the future chief of staff of the White House, Susie Wiles.
"Ukrainian officials say they look forward to working with Trump and have had productive early meetings. But behind the scenes, some fear that Trump may negotiate a bad deal with President Putin over their heads in an attempt to end the war as quickly as possible,” writes Politico.
