The Supreme Anti -Corruption Court approved a correspondence agreement on the recognition of guilt between the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the former People's Deputy Ruslan Demchak. The politician, which is currently abroad and is found in the investigative bases, agreed to punishment and took a number of financial obligations.
According to the sentence, Demchak was appointed 3 years of imprisonment conditionally, with a probationary term. In addition, the court decided to impose a fine of 17 thousand hryvnias and prohibit positions in public authorities within one year.
The key element of the agreement was the compensation of the damage caused to the state: Demchak has already returned 800 thousand hryvnias and pledged to transfer another UAH 2 million for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is a case of illegal receipt of compensation for renting a home in Kiev. According to the investigation, during a cadence in the Verkhovna Rada Demchak received state funds for renting an apartment in the capital, despite the fact that he had his own house near Kiev.
Despite the status of the wanted person, Demchak managed to conclude an agreement and avoid real imprisonment.
