On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1,248 marriages were officially registered in Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine . Despite the fact that this year the holiday fell on a Saturday, the state civil registration authorities worked as usual.
The largest number of marriages was registered in the capital, Kyiv, with 228 new families registered. The leaders were also Dnipropetrovsk Oblast , with 180 marriages, and Lviv Oblast , with 141 marriages.
The Ministry of Justice noted that for the convenience of citizens, the digital offices of the DRACS were open that day, although they are usually closed on Saturdays. Thanks to this, 258 couples used the "Marriage Online" service and registered their relationship remotely - while being in different cities or even countries.
Online marriage registration allows you to submit documents and go through the procedure without being in person in the same room. This format has become especially relevant during martial law and for couples temporarily living abroad.
Valentine's Day traditionally remains one of the most popular dates for getting married in Ukraine. Every year, thousands of couples choose to formalize their relationship on February 14, giving symbolic meaning to this day.
