Member of the Berehiv District Council from the Party of the People of the People and the head of the sector for the prevention of corruption in the State Migration Service of Transcarpathian region Valentin Veremchuk disappeared after departure to Europe. His business trip, drawn up through the checkpoint "Dyakovo", ended with an escape - the official did not return to Ukraine.
This was reported by the deputy of the Uzhgorod City Council and journalist Vitaliy Glagola. According to him, Veremchuk left the country on November 13, 2024, taking advantage of the border, where his father - the head of customs fasting Mykola Veremchuk - worked for years. After that, Valentin did not return to Ukraine and actually disappeared.
Valentin Veremchuk held two positions at once, which formally obliged him to defend the interests of the state - a deputy from a pro -government party and responsible for the fight against corruption in the regional unit of the LCA. At the same time, his family has long been the focus of journalists and law enforcement.
His mother is Natalia Kosteleba-Veremchuk-a deputy of the Vynohradiv OTG, also from the party "Servant of the People". In the past, she worked as the first deputy head of the Vynohradiv Regional State Administration. In April 2023, law enforcement officers conducted searches at the Veremchuk family house - the search video then appeared publicly.
The father of the missing official - Mykola Veremchuk - has repeatedly appeared in smuggling scandals. He was released from customs, but he renewed through court. He also has a disabled person who, according to journalists, uses the family as a tool - to evade mobilization, to protect in criminal cases.
