Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) together with the National Police Strategic Investigation Department exposed a fraudulent scheme with the purchase of poor quality military clothing, which caused millions of losses to the state. This was reported on the official website of the DBR.
The attackers, headed by the deputy of the city council of Kirovograd region, who at the same time owned the enterprise, took advantage of the tender for the purchase of clothing for military in the Kherson region. However, instead of supplying certified products, entrepreneurs purchased cheap goods that did not meet the requirements of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Clothing, which was only resembling the military, was supplied to the army, which led to serious financial losses.
As a result of criminal activity, the state was caused by losses in the amount of more than 21 million UAH. The deputy involved several accomplices in the equipment, including the director of the controlled company and the accountant.
Law enforcement officers reported the suspicion of the deputy and his accomplices under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including the seizure of another's property and the preparation of deliberately false documents. The sanction of articles provides up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
At the moment, the issue of the use of a preventive measure and compensation for the losses caused to the state is being considered.
The procedural guidance in the case is carried out by the specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Southern region. Earlier, the DBR completed a judicial investigation into the Kherson Regional Regional State Administration, who also purchased these low -quality clothing through the tender procedures.
