The People's Deputy from the faction "Servant of the People" Irina Kormishkina has submitted a statement about the drafting of her deputy's powers. According to the announcement of events published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the address of the People's Deputy will be considered on February 24, 2025 at a meeting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Regulations, Deputy Ethics and Organization of Work.
According to the agenda, the committee meeting will be held in a videoconference format, which will hear arguments for Kormyshkina's statement. After that, in accordance with the Regulation, the issue of deputy powers will be brought to voting in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. In the case of a positive decision, the deputy will officially stop the performance of his duties.
It should be noted that the submission of an application for drafting against the background of investigations into illegal enrichment is not accidental. Therefore, Irina Kormishkina, previously known as Allahverdiyeva, has recently become a person involved in a criminal case. On October 16, the SAP prosecutor informed her suspicion of illegal enrichment. According to the investigation, the People's Deputy has acquired assets of over UAH 20 million more than officially declared income during 2021-2022. It was found that at these funds she purchased a house near Odessa through a legal entity.
On January 9, this year, Irina Kormyshkin was again accused, this time this time for the introduction of deliberately false information to her declaration for 2023. According to law enforcement officers, the People's Deputy did not reflect in her declaration information about the dwelling house and land owned by her near Odessa. According to data, these assets have a value of over UAH 17 million and were purchased on the basis of unreasonable income.
According to the court decision, on October 23, 2024, a preventive measure was applied to Kormyshkina in the form of a personal bail. The guarantors identified the head of the "servant of the people" faction David Arahamia and the head of the Nikolaev ova Vitaliy Kim. It should be noted that in Ukraine the situation was repeatedly covered by providing support for political associates in cases of criminal investigations.
Thus, the decision to draw up parliamentary powers Irina Kormyshkina is probably part of her strategy to avoid further political and legal consequences. However, this step raises many questions about the future of her political career, as well as how changes in the Verkhovna Rada can affect the faction of the "servant of the people".
