The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy, Halyna Tretyakov, has declared his intention to submit new draft laws, which would be related to pension privileges for military people who did not participate in hostilities. In her opinion, only combatants (UBD) and mothers who gave birth and raised a child up to six years of age should have the right to benefits.
Tretyakova drew attention to the fact that nowadays there is an inequality in Ukraine between different categories of servicemen. In particular, military persons who did not participate in hostilities enjoy pension privileges along with those who have UBD status. This, in her opinion, is unfair and should be regulated by law.
"This is a topic of the following laws," she stressed, referring to possible changes to legislation that will limit benefits for military without combat experience.
In addition, she mentioned the consideration in the committee of the Bill No. 12278 on the abolition of special specialty for prosecutors. This document has already received a positive decision of the committee and is recommended for adoption in the Verkhovna Rada.
Separately, Tretyakov explained the current pension system in Ukraine. According to her, since 2022, all pensions, except for special regimes, are indexed according to a single formula enshrined in the law. At the same time, the "manual regime" of indexation, which allowed individual increase, has already been canceled. The special pensions continue to remain an exception from the general system.
The retirement age in Ukraine is gradually increasing, and by 2028 the basic norm will be 60 years in the presence of 35 years of experience. In cases of less experience, retirement age increases - up to 63 or even 65 years. Exception - for those who work in special conditions.
“Faithful to have the same rules for indexation and size of retirement age? Do you need to separate anyone? ” - asked the rhetorical question of the deputy.
This position of Tretyakova, which has repeatedly initiated changes in social policy, can cause lively discussions both among the military and society as a whole.
