Analysts of the non-governmental organization "Chesno" made calculations regarding the costs that the state could save during almost two and a half years of full-scale war, if the people's elected representatives showed more responsibility in their activities.
Thus, almost 65 million hryvnias went from the state budget for compensation for renting housing in the capital for people's deputies, including those who during the 2022-2024 war years declared hundreds of thousands in foreign currency in cash, new cars, jewelry, clothes and accessories of luxury brands and even those who have an apartment in Kyiv.
According to the declarations, of the 160 people's deputies who received compensation over the past two years, at least 54 have accumulated more than $100,000.
The largest percentage of people's deputies who received compensation for housing is among the "Servants of the People", who received more compensation than people's deputies of all other factions and groups combined.
During 2022-2023, 20 million hryvnias were allocated annually from the budget to rent housing for servants, and in the first four months of 2024, this amount has almost reached 5 million hryvnias.
And precisely the maximum allowable amount of housing compensation was chosen by wealthy "servants", in particular Bohdan Torokhtii, Artem Kunaev, Oleg Voronko, Stepan Chernyavskyi, Igor Negulevskyi, Igor Fries, Orest Salamakha, Oleksandr Horobets and others.
For example, the "servant" Oleksandr Kabanov, whose wife owns an apartment in Kyiv with an area of 164.7 square meters. m and who has the right to live there free of charge, for the first four months of 2024 took 56 thousand hryvnias from the budget for housing rent.
It is noteworthy that the least money for housing was requested by people's deputies from the PZhM and "Restoration of Ukraine" groups (which used to be part of the OPZH together) and from "Batkivshchyna".
In general, the green government uses every opportunity to steal to the maximum, even in spite of the war, and OP uses compensation for housing as a variant of envelopes for its deputies.
