Deputies passed a law banning the Moscow church

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 8371, which prohibits the activities of religious organizations associated with the Russian Federation. This decision became an important step in the fight against Moscow's influence on religious institutions in Ukraine.

People's deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko called the adoption of the bill a "historic decision" in Telegram.

From the decision of the National Security Council in December 2022 and the decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to the decision of the parliament is more than a year and a half! Finally, the Russian Orthodox Church will be banned as part of the regime of the aggressor state, and it will also be forbidden for Ukrainian religious organizations to contact it! We are waiting for the President to sign it," People's Deputy Yevgenia Kravchuk said on Facebook.
