On August 24, Ukrainian deputy Artem Dmytruk made an unauthorized crossing of the border with Moldova and left the territory of Ukraine. As it became known, the deputy applied for political asylum with the Moldovan law enforcement officers, and later flew to Rome, where he currently resides.
Artem Dmytruk illegally crossed the border through the Palanka checkpoint. According to "Ukrainian Pravda", the deputy crossed the border on foot and immediately went to the local police station in Štefan-Voda, where he asked for temporary asylum. There are no records of his official departure from Ukraine at the Ukrainian border base.
Dmytruk later arrived at Chisinau airport, where he was supposed to fly to Rome. Ukrainian law enforcement officers submitted a request for his detention, but due to the lack of legal grounds, this was not implemented, and he was able to leave Moldova.
On August 25, the Ukrainian side officially announced suspicion against Dmytruk, which provided grounds for his detention in Moldova in the event of his return.
At present, information about Dmytrouk's further movements diverges. Some sources of "Ukrainian Pravda" report that he left Rome for London, others - that the next point of his journey could be Istanbul.
People's deputy Artem Dmytruk was informed of suspicion due to attacks on a law enforcement officer and a military man. Therefore, he is summoned to the investigative SBI for investigative and procedural actions.
