Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Kunytskyi, who has not participated in the Verkhovna Rada meetings for a long time, has declared his residence abroad. According to the published declaration, the politician is currently in Canada and lives in an apartment owned by a foreign citizen.

This was pointed out by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, who stated that Kunytskyi has not actually fulfilled his parliamentary duties for over a year and a half.
According to Honcharenko, the deputy's whereabouts remained unknown for a long time, and his absence from parliament raised questions.
" He hasn't been to the Verkhovna Rada meetings for over a year and a half, and no one knew where he was or why he was absent. I constantly asked about it and said that he was a fugitive ," wrote Honcharenko.
The politician also stated that Kunitsky's new declaration actually confirmed the deputy's stay abroad.
What is known about Kunitsky?
Oleksandr Kunytskyi was elected as a People's Deputy in 2019 from the Servant of the People party in the majoritarian district of Kharkiv region. Before his political career, he was known as a blogger and journalist who covered automotive topics.
In the Verkhovna Rada, Kunitsky was a member of the committee on law enforcement activities.
In previous years, his name was repeatedly mentioned in public discussions due to his prolonged absence from parliamentary sessions.
Can they be stripped of their mandate?
Ukrainian legislation provides for several grounds for early termination of the powers of a people's deputy. In particular, this can occur in the event of a personal application to resign, acquisition of citizenship of another state, or by court decision.
At the same time, prolonged absence from plenary sessions is not in itself an automatic reason for losing one's parliamentary mandate.
