VAKS found guilty the former deputy director of the Polissky Forestry Office of the state enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", the deputy of the Rivne Regional Council Vitaliy Suhovych. More than UAH 98 million in cash was confiscated from him.
Such a decision was made by VAX on May 29.
As indicated, Sukhovych pleaded guilty and gave an incriminating statement about himself. He also voluntarily transferred UAH 5 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and had proper procedural behavior. In addition, the accused supported the special confiscation of seized funds.
"To approve the plea agreement concluded on May 2, 2024 between the prosecutor of the SAP and the accused (Sukhovych, - Ed.) in criminal proceedings. (Sukhovicha, Ed.) to be found guilty of the criminal offense provided for in Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the decision reads.
The accused MP was sentenced to 5 years of conditional imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years. The court also applied special confiscation to 1.34 million dollars, 1.034 million euros and 1.56 million UAH seized from Suhovych.
In addition, the deputy was assigned the following duties: to periodically appear for registration with the authorized body on probation issues and to notify this body of a change of place of residence, work or study.
