In Sumy region, a deputy of the regional council killed a man with a hunting weapon. The Sumy regional prosecutor's office reported this.
The incident occurred on June 21 at around 7:00 p.m. on the territory of the “Northern Forest” hunting farm in the village of Zarechye, Konotop district.
“While aiming his own hunting rifle, the deputy, instead of the designated target, fired at a forestry worker who was in the firing zone,” the prosecutor’s office reported. The gunshot wound proved fatal, and the 46-year-old man died on the spot.
A deputy of the Sumy Regional Council has been charged with the intentional murder of a forest foreman (Part 1, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The suspect is currently in a temporary detention center. He faces 7 to 15 years in prison.
