Ukraine has recorded an increase in egg prices, which is due to several factors. This was reported by the press service of the supermarket chain " EKO Market".
According to the chain, the main impact is the increase in the price of poultry feed, which accounts for the largest share of the cost of production. In addition, prices are driven by the increase in the cost of energy resources and logistics costs.
Seasonality also plays a role: in the fall, when the temperature drops, the egg production of chickens traditionally drops, which leads to an increase in the price of eggs.
As of August, the average price of packaged eggs (10 pcs.) at "EKO Market" is 66.90 UAH, and unpackaged eggs — 4.99 UAH per piece (about 49.90 UAH per dozen). At "Silpo" chicken eggs C1 "Kvochka" (10 pcs.) cost 71.68 UAH, and at Novus chicken eggs C0 "Kvochka. Domashni" (10 pcs.) — 71.99 UAH.
"ECO Market" predicts that prices will remain relatively stable in the near future, but will gradually increase in the fall. Buyers are advised to pay attention to unpackaged eggs, as they are cheaper due to the absence of packaging costs.
According to the State Statistics Service, eggs have risen in price by 82.4% over the year, and by only 1.5% over the past month. Overall, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in July for the first time in two years, and annual inflation slowed to 14.1%.
