The apartment and operational department (KEV) of Zaporozhye purchased fuel timber at a price, which is almost twice the market , which caused suspicion of possible corruption schemes. The total cost was over UAH 50 million .
According to the journalistic investigation, in recent months, various CEVs of the Ministry of Defense have purchased firewood for a total amount of UAH 97.35 million. In most regions, military units received fuel at the price of UAH 1,800 - 2,000 per cubic meter, which corresponds to the market value. The lowest prices were fixed in Rivne, where purchases occurred for UAH 1 300 - 1 400 per cubic meter.
Instead, the situation in Zaporozhye was the opposite: the local KEV purchased birch firewood at the price of 3 040 - 3 280 UAH per cubic meter, which is almost twice the average cost. The total amount of contracts - UAH 50.94 million.

It is interesting that the firewood in Zaporozhye was bought without VAT, as the supply companies canceled the taxpayer certificate in 2021. These are LLC "Into Opttorg" and Bosparlen LLC, owned by Andrey Motrych from Vasylkov. All contracts in the region got it to its companies.
Another detail: in all tenders, these two companies won with the most expensive offer, sometimes their price was 25-30% higher than that of competitors. At the same time, they work exclusively from KEV Zaporozhye and do not participate in other public procurement.
The apartment and operational department of Zaporizhzhia is headed by Ivan Maksimenko, and Elena Vyaltseva is responsible for the purchase. It is unknown whether an investigation into a possible corruption component will be conducted.
