Dmytro Verbytskyi remains in office despite accusations of corruption

The scandal surrounding Dmytro Verbytskyi, the prosecutor accused by the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) of illegal enrichment of 29 million hryvnias, once again highlights the problems in the Ukrainian law enforcement system.

He continues to work as a prosecutor under Andrii Kostin in the central office of the OGP.

A few days ago, they say, Verbytskyi was loudly dismissed from the post of deputy general prosecutor. This happened in response to the high-profile facts of his illegal enrichment, which were published by the journalists of "Scheme" of Radio Liberty.

But in fact, Verbytskyi was simply hidden. He continues to receive a considerable salary and remains a prosecutor in the cases he led. He also initiated criminal proceedings against journalists who exposed his "Augian stables".
