The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the state budget for the next year in the second reading, but the document drew sharp criticism from some politicians. In particular, the former Speaker of the Parliament Dmytro Razumkov stated that the budget is irrelevant for Ukraine and does not take into account the key needs of the army, economy and citizens in the current realities.
"Budget-2025: without the real needs of the army, business and Ukrainians - only populism and sky-high salaries for their own. The Verkhovna Rada did approve the main financial document for the next year - it was not supported by the "Smart Policy" team! For a thousand days of full-scale aggression, the authorities could learn to live in war conditions and make decisions that truly correspond to the needs of a warring country. This budget was supposed to become the financial basis for the state, but in fact it does not have answers to key challenges! The urgent needs of the front, the economy and business, our people who keep the state in the rear are not taken into account
," the politician wrote on the Telegram channel.
Razumkov was indignant that not a single amendment of the opposition factions, which proposed to increase spending on the support of the military, doctors and teachers, was accepted by a monomajority. At the same time, the document preserved the exorbitant salaries of officials, expenses for the telethon and draconian taxes for ordinary citizens.
"Not a single proposal of people's deputies was taken into account. Not a single amendment on additional funding for the military, on support for teachers, doctors, and immigrants was supported. But what remained were sky-high salaries for officials, a telethon, populism in the form of "national cashback"! And a separate absurdity is the fact that this budget was drawn up taking into account the expected revenues from tax increases, which the president has not yet signed! "Timing" the adoption of such a document to the 1,000 days of struggle of Ukrainians is disrespect for the people, and simply a shame!"
, - he was indignant.
