Up to five million weapons are in the hands of Ukrainians

Ukrainians have up to five million weapons, said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.

"From a million to five. But a million is also a lot. And how many grenades are in the hands of our citizens? A lot too. And we must do everything so that these weapons, these ammunition, get to the warehouses, so as not to endanger citizens, - the minister noted.

Judging by his words, we are talking about both officially issued weapons and illegal ones. According to Klymenko, "a certain amount of trophy weapons" is illegally in the hands of citizens.

He added that after the adoption by the Council in the second reading of the corresponding draft law, citizens will have the opportunity to register trophy weapons - without obligations to surrender them before the end of martial law.
