Last year, 340 bone marrow transplants were performed in Ukraine, as reported by the Head of the Ministry of Health Viktor Lyashko during the “United News” telethon. He noted that the pilot transplantation project was successfully completed and transformed into a medical guarantee program, with additional funds allocated for the development of the transplantation sector.
Lyashko expressed satisfaction with the results of the pilot project, emphasizing that 585 organ transplants and 340 bone marrow transplants were performed in 2023 alone. In his statement, he also noted that currently 2,914 patients are waiting for transplant operations that could save their lives.
