Cancer often develops without obvious symptoms, so in the early stages they go unnoticed. However, there are a number of symptoms that should alert you and become a reason for examination, even if your general well-being seems normal.
One of the most common warning signs is sudden weight loss without any changes to your diet or lifestyle. People often view this as a positive development, especially if being overweight has been a problem. However, unexplained weight loss is a serious reason to see a doctor, especially if it is accompanied by persistent fatigue.
Another dangerous sign is slow healing of wounds or the appearance of ulcers in the mouth that do not go away for a long time. Similarly, it is worth paying attention to bruises that appear without trauma. Such manifestations can be symptoms of disorders in the hematopoietic system or even oncological pathologies.
Prolonged abdominal pain or nausea that has no obvious explanation (such as poisoning or gastritis) also requires attention. According to doctors, such manifestations can signal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract or cancer of the liver or pancreas.
Another symptom that is often ignored is a cough that doesn't go away after three weeks. It can be a sign not only of lung cancer, but also of leukemia, lymphoma, laryngeal cancer, or esophageal cancer.
Finally, unexplained pain in any part of the body that occurs regularly and has no apparent cause should be a cause for concern. If the pain persists or worsens, an examination is mandatory.
Doctors emphasize that if you experience any unusual or prolonged symptoms, it is best to see a doctor and get diagnosed. Cancer detected at an early stage is much more treatable.
