Information on the property and income of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, the Expert Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny is closed for public access. This was confirmed by the National Anti -Corruption Agency (NACC) and at the Ukrainian Embassy in London in response to a journalistic request.
Glavcom's edition appealed to Zaluzhny to provide data on his income and assets for 2024. The request referred to real estate, movable property, securities, corporate rights, financial obligations and other elements of the declaration. However, the ambassador forwarded a request to the NAPC.
The embassy explained that they did not have such information, because it was "not created, received or documented" within the limits of the diplomatic institution. Eduard Fesko Advisor also redirected journalists to the Anti-Corruption Agency.
The NAPC itself referred to changes to the legislation, which was approved in September 2023. Since then, the declarations of servicemen who have been or remain involved in the fighting have not been published.
According to the agency, the publication of such data can be a threat not only to the declarants themselves, but also to their families. This, according to NAPC, can create risks to national security, as well as complicate the prevention of defense crimes.
Thus, the agency concluded that "the damage to the publication of such information is dominated by public interest in obtaining it," and therefore it is limited in access.
This means that the public will not now be able to find out what salary the ambassador receives, as well as what assets he owns.
