The Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducts a study of the level of personal welfare of Ukrainians by the methodology of British Department of National Statistics. The results of the survey indicate a complex emotional state of citizens, caused by military and economic instability.
The study of the personal well -being of Ukrainians by the methodology of the National Statistical Management of the United Kingdom, conducted in June 2024, showed that well -being is not only an economy, but also an emotional state, health, relationships, living conditions, work and education. This makes it possible to evaluate the quality of life more deeply than conventional economic indicators.
Key results of the study of personal well -being of Ukrainians:
-Life satisfaction: 42% of respondents evaluate their lives as unsatisfactory, which can indicate difficulties in socio-economic and psychological aspects. Only 25% feel high or very high in life satisfaction, which is much lower than the expected standards of well -being.
- meaning and value of activity: 62% of respondents consider their activity full of sense and effort. However, more than a third evaluate it as partly value, indicating the need to maintain active participation in life and create opportunities for self -realization.
- Happiness level: 50% of Ukrainians feel happiness at a low or average level. Only 43% have a high or very high level of happiness, which emphasizes the need to improve social, economic and cultural living conditions.
- anxiety level: 43% of respondents experience a high level of anxiety, indicating emotional instability. Only 34% indicated a low anxiety, which indicates the importance of creating a favorable social environment and opportunities for emotional support.
“The results show an interesting feature: although 75% of Ukrainians surveyed are dissatisfied with their lives, and 65% experience a high level of anxiety, 62% still find considerable meaning in what they do. This indicates that the sense of meaning helps Ukrainians partially cope with stress and difficulty. This may be due to the importance of cultural, historical and patriotic values for us. It is worth exploring this deeper, because the sense of sense can be the basis for programs that support activity, cohesion and psychological recovery, ”said Ruban Litvinova Social Impact Advisory and co -author of the project Olena Litvinova.
Comparison of well -being of Ukrainians and British
The study also gives an opportunity to compare the level of personal well -being in Ukraine and the United Kingdom:
• In Ukraine, almost half of the respondents (46%) are dissatisfied with life, while in the UK only 6%are.
• 60% of Ukrainians consider their activities meaningful compared to 80% of Britons, which indicates similar moods about the importance of what they do.
• Only 43% of Ukrainians feel happiness, while in the UK this figure is 74%.
• Half of Ukrainians face a high level of anxiety, while in the UK, anxiety applies only every fourth.
The research was conducted by the Ruban Litvinova Impact Impact Impact Impact Strategy Agency and the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) with the support of Social Value Ukraine in June 2024.
The survey, which was conducted through telephone interviews (CATI), covered 2008 respondents from the territories under the control of the Government of Ukraine.
In Ukraine, about 50% of Ukrainians have given priority to freedom over security. Instead, 34% of those polled noted that they were ready to give in to the state a share of their rights and civil freedoms in exchange for security.
