Confidence in Volodymyr Zelenskyi in the world is decreasing

In 2024, the dynamics of the change in trust in the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, gained publicity in the international arena. According to a study by the Pew Research Center, conducted in a number of countries, there was a significant decline in the levels of support for the president, compared to last year.

The research was conducted in 35 countries of the world to determine the attitude of the population towards the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

According to these data, on average, 40% of respondents have a positive attitude towards Zelenskyi, and 46% have a negative attitude. In Europe, the most positive attitude towards the president of Ukraine is in Sweden - 80% and Great Britain - 72%.

Positive attitudes towards Zelenskyi also prevail over negative ones in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Spain.

In Hungary, 14% of the population has a positive attitude towards Zelensky, which is the lowest result in Europe, while the negative indicator reaches 83%, the highest among the 35 countries of the study.

In Asia and Oceania, the highest level of trust in the President of Ukraine is in Japan - 63% and Australia - 62%. Also, more positive than negative attitudes were recorded in the Philippines, South Korea and Bangladesh.

The population in India has the highest rate of undecideds at 45%, while 28% support Zelensky and 27% disagree. In Canada, 64% trust the president of Ukraine, and 30% have a negative view. In the USA, the figures are 48% versus 39%, respectively.

According to Pew Research Center analysts, trust in Volodymyr Zelenskyi has significantly decreased in several countries, especially in Poland. In 2023, 70% of Poles trusted Zelenskyi, and in 2024, this indicator dropped by 22 points to 48%. Also, a significant decrease in confidence in the president was recorded in South Korea - 15 points and South Africa - 12 points. Less than 10 points of decrease in trust was also observed in such partners of Ukraine as Australia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and the USA.

In Ukraine, confidence in Volodymyr Zelenskyi is 53.8%. They do not trust the President of Ukraine - 37.8%. According to the balance of trust and distrust, Zelenskyi has the highest indicators in Ukraine.
