The State Border Service of Ukraine (SBSU) announced the disconnection of more than 200 carriers from the “Shlyakh” system due to numerous violations of border crossing rules. According to the spokesman for the SBSU, Andriy Demchenko, the identified cases of abuse of the system concern both unreliable data about drivers and violation of travel deadlines abroad.
One of the areas of verification is the “Shlyakh” system for drivers who carry out transportation or those who follow the border to transport humanitarian aid. During border control, it very often turns out that those who follow this system cannot confirm the purpose of their trip
According to him, licensees abuse the fact that they enter information about drivers, and they subsequently do not comply with the period of stay abroad.
“In such cases, they are refused entry to the border. But there are times when we record that licensees abuse and enter information about drivers who subsequently do not comply with the period of stay abroad or do not return at all. We transfer such information to Ukrtransbezpeka so that they can conduct a more thorough check. And more than 200 licensees were refused entry into further information about such drivers,” Demchenko said.
Previously, Demchenko reported that the State Border Service of Ukraine does not rule out possible changes in the border crossing procedure for men with disabilities.
