There may be restrictions on electricity supply in Kyiv, and energy experts are urging residents of the capital to reduce electricity consumption during peak load times.
The company's CEO, Denis Bondar, made the following conclusions on Friday, April 19. The reasons for the possible introduction of power outage schedules are as follows:
Increased electricity consumption: With the arrival of spring, the need for electricity increases noticeably.
Damage to infrastructure due to shelling: attacks by Russian troops on Ukrainian energy facilities lead to their destruction and disrupt the normal functioning of the power grid.
"Given the increased need for electricity in the context of the damage to power grids that has occurred, there is a possibility of introducing outage schedules in the event of further shelling of our energy facilities," Bondar emphasized.
DTEK reported that they are actively working to reduce the possibility of mass power outages.
Carrying out restoration measures: teams of specialists take measures to restore damaged elements of the power grid.
Appeal for economical consumption: DTEK calls on Kyiv residents to use electricity cautiously, in particular during peak consumption times, which fall in the morning (from 7 to 11 a.m.) and evening (from 5 to 11 p.m.) hours.
