The Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv announced the suspicion of two high-ranking officials of the Kyiv Metro in official negligence, which caused serious consequences for the system.
According to the prosecutor's office, the chief engineer and head of the track, tunnel construction and building services did not carry out a mandatory inspection and survey of the tunnel on the blue branch, which led to its destruction on December 8 last year.
Examinations proved that the operation of the tunnel was improper and did not comply with building regulations.
The court is asked to release and send the suspects under house arrest.
The involvement of other officials, in particular from the KMDA, is being investigated.
We will remind you that last fall, six stations on the blue line of the metro were closed: Demiivska, Holosiivska, Vasylkivska, Exhibition Center, Hippodrome and Teremky.
The mayor's office then claimed that violations during construction during Yanukovych's time were to blame.
