The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the National Police, disrupted an attempt at a terrorist attack near Rivne. According to the investigation, two 18-year-old residents of the city, published by Russian special services, tried to undermine the police outfit, which came on a false challenge.
The incident occurred in an abandoned building outside the city. Line 102 received a message about an allegedly detected body with signs of violent death. The police arrived on the call immediately, after which the explosion came. Thanks to the professional actions of law enforcement officers, there was no casualties.
According to the SBU, the executors are two local young men who acted as clearly instructions from the Russian curator. Due to the encrypted messenger, they received the coordinates of the cheat with explosives and equipment.
Having collected two homemade explosive devices, the young men filled them with battle grenades, nuts and SIM cards for remote blasting. To control the situation, they also installed traffic sensors and camcorders, which were accessed by representatives of the special services of the Russian Federation.
The operation to bring the police on the prepared "explosive trap" was carried out remotely. The main goal is to inflict losses to Ukrainian security forces and sow panic among the local population.
Fortunately, the terrorist attack was thwarted and the performers were detained immediately after an unsuccessful explosion attempt. Explosive devices, smartphones, instructions, and video surveillance records have been removed.
The detainees are charged with the preparation of a terrorist act and cooperation with foreign intelligence. The relevant proceedings are opened under Art. 258 and 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The SBU continues to link the persons involved with other enemy agents, as well as checking whether such schemes have been implemented in other regions of Ukraine.
