Dynamo Kyiv is experiencing a difficult start to the 2025/26 season: the team has failed to win in three consecutive matches and has been eliminated first from the Champions League and then from the Europa League. The club and fans are increasingly discussing the issue of personnel changes in the coaching staff - in particular, the possible resignation of head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.
According to journalist Igor Burbas in his BurBuzz podcast on YouTube, the main contender for the position of Dynamo coach is called Croatian specialist Igor Jovicevich. The author of the material emphasizes that Jovicevich's candidacy looks "ready": allegedly he has champion titles with Shakhtar, and recently - the title of champion with Ludogorets. According to Burbas, Jovicevich's opinion has weight in the club environment - he even acted as an advisor to other famous coaches, and the Surkis, it is said, likes to invite coaches with a solid track record.
So far, the club has not made any official statements about the change of coach: the management and sports department are working in an intensified mode, and fans and experts are closely monitoring internal transfers and personnel signals. The situation is further complicated by a tight calendar: Dynamo is already preparing for the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup, where Shakhtar will be the opponent, and in European competitions the team will face difficult opponents - among them Fiorentina and Crystal Palace in the UEFA Conference League.
How the development of events will affect the management's decision and when a final decision on the coaching position is possible remains a question. The club needs to restore performance and stability in the game to avoid further aggravation of the discussion around the coaching staff and maintain its position in the national championship and European cups.
