The adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, expressed his thoughts on the situation with Ukrainian citizens abroad who faced difficulties in obtaining consular services and issuing passports.
"There is an obvious clarification that the service has been suspended regarding the remote receipt of certain documents. This is normal. "Remotely" is a service, not the state's obligation to do so. The state stops this service, despite the fact that certain citizens have stopped their duties to the state. And this is normal, so I would advise you to take it easy. There is an absolutely clear position of the state - there will be no remote documents. Please come, get these documents on the spot," said Podolyak.
He believes that Minister Kuleba had the authority to issue such a decree. And calls to wait for additional clarifications on how the consular services will work when the law on mobilization comes into force.
"Populist reasoning "we will protect people, because we will lose them" - these people have already lost themselves at this stage. Maybe then they will realize what their native country is, what is the country in which you were born, your parents, which in any case made you the person you are, and they will return. But today, talking about the fact that we are losing someone or not losing someone..." - said Podolyak.
