John Bolton on Trump's plans to end the war in 24 hours: "Good luck"

Former US national security adviser John Bolton was skeptical of Donald Trump's statements about his intention to end the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours. In his comments to the American media, Bolton emphasized that such ideas are far from reality and could endanger security in the region.

US President-elect Donald Trump is "exaggerating a bit" by saying that he can end the war in Ukraine in just 24 hours.

"He [Trump] said he would get [Kremlin dictator] Volodymyr Putin and [Ukrainian President] Volodymyr Zelensky in the same room and they would solve the Ukraine problem in 24 hours - good luck with that," the former national security adviser said. USA John Bolton in an interview with Sky News.

The expert also noted that he is telling the truth in another matter. This refers to Trump's words that there were no "loud wars" during his presidency.

"He's telling the truth in the sense that we've been in a quieter period of history and now we're seeing what can happen, particularly with [US President] Joe Biden's weakness in withdrawing troops from Afghanistan and failing to even try to contain Russia before it invades to Ukraine," Bolton said.

The former US national security adviser also added that Europe should take seriously Trump's threats that the US may withdraw from NATO, as he does not trust the North Atlantic Alliance.

We previously reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyi and his team are successfully adapting to the changed politics in Washington, in particular, having contact with the people who Donald Trump will appoint to a number of positions in his administration.

"Kellogg is a person with whom the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and his entourage can work," writes Politico.

In addition, John Bolton also stated that Biden was unable to develop a winning strategy for three years of full-scale war, but Trump, in turn, will try to find the best solution to the situation.
