Investigators of the department for the investigation of crimes in the field of economic and official activity of the investigative department of the National Security Service in the Odesa region, together with the employees of the SBU Office in the Odesa region, established that the person involved, being the appointed acting general director of the utility company "Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Aid and Disaster Medicine" in 2022 he deliberately entered into a contract with an individual entrepreneur engaged in the wholesale trade of pharmaceutical goods for the purchase of medical materials, the cost of which was significantly higher than the market price.

Having collected enough evidence, regional police investigators under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office informed the suspect of suspicion of embezzlement of someone else's property by abusing an official's official position, committed on a large scale, under martial law. This crime is qualified under Part 4 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the moment, the police are asking for the suspect to be remanded in custody. The offender faces the penalty of deprivation of liberty for a period of five to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years.
