Volodymyr Markevich, the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Ternopil region, became the subject of attention due to his new appointment in the city of Yuzhne, Odesa region. According to the information that has become known, Markevich has received a new "bread" position and has already purchased an apartment in this city.
The former head of the SBU of the Ternopil region, Volodymyr Markevich, who was dismissed after the Euromaidan due to pressure on the protesters, now manages the branch of the SBU Odesa sanatorium in the city of Yuzhny.

Prior to this appointment, Markevich held the position of deputy for security at the State Enterprise "MTP Yuzhny". During his stay there, a large-scale corruption scheme related to the installation of video cameras from the company of the daughter of the former head of the Kyiv police was discovered.
According to the SBI, the former management of the "Pivdenniy" port was involved in large-scale corruption.
In his declaration for 2023, Markevich indicated the availability of two apartments in Odesa (106.5 and 60.7 square meters) and one in Zhydachevo (45 square meters), but did not indicate their value. In January 2023, he purchased another apartment in the city of Yuzhny for 760,000 hryvnias (38 square meters) and spent 1.08 million hryvnias on the purchase of non-residential premises in Odesa, the area of which he did not specify.
In addition, in December 2023, Markevich acquired the rights to a Nissan Murano car (2020) at a price of only 36.9 thousand hryvnias, while the market value of such a car exceeds 900 thousand hryvnias.
The official also declared a stake in Torggrup LLC in the amount of 182 thousand hryvnias. For 2023, he received 157 thousand hryvnias in pension, 350.4 thousand hryvnias in salary and 1.92 million hryvnias from the sale of property to Vyacheslav Duda. Markevich keeps 80 thousand dollars and 2.96 million hryvnias in cash.
