Former Health Minister Raisa Bogatyryova, known as a associate of the fugitive President Viktor Yanukovych, tried to reach a pension to the level of almost 90% of the salary of the current MP. However, the court denied her the claim.
According to Glavcom with reference to the court register, as of March 2025, the pension of Bogatyryova amounted to UAH 21.8 thousand. Expatientation demanded to increase payments by referring to the rules of the old law "On the status of the People's Deputy of Ukraine", which allowed to set pensions to expatants up to 90% of the current salary of parliamentarians. And this is about UAH 38-39 thousand at that time.
However, the Pension Fund refused to recalculate, noting that in 2021, at the time of submission of the application, there were already other rules for the accrual of pensions - in accordance with the general pension legislation, not the special status of the People's Deputy.
The Volyn District Administrative Court agreed with the arguments of the Pension Fund. The decision states that the pension of Bogatyryova is not subject to revision on the basis of the salaries of current deputies. Thus, the excendants were denied payments.
However, Bogatyryova has the right to appeal this decision on appeal.
