The Supreme Anti -Corruption Court of Ukraine approved an agreement on the recognition of the former MP Ruslan Demchak, who was previously wanted. The politician recognized his participation in the corruption scheme with illegal rental compensation and agreed to compensate more than UAH 2.8 million, some of which would be directed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the ABSolution Detective Bureau, the court approved an agreement concluded between Demchak and law enforcement agencies, in his absence - the former people's deputy is abroad and avoids justice.
The investigation found that during his stay in the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Demchak received compensation for the rent of housing, despite the fact that he owned a country house near Kiev. Thus, he caused the state losses for millions of hryvnias.
Under the terms of the agreement, Demchak was imposed three years of conditional punishment with a term of one year, a fine of 17 thousand hryvnias and a ban on holding public office within one year.
It is significant that he has already reimbursed some of the damage - 800 thousand hryvnias - and another 2 million promised to transfer to the Armed Forces. This is one of the reasons for the softer punishment and the conclusion of the agreement.
