Tamerlan Vagabov, who held the position of an employee of the Defense Procurement Agency, was dismissed from his position on the recommendation of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine. The release was the result of the inspections, during which it was found that Vagabov's activities could become a threat to the national security of Ukraine.
We were informed about this by sources in the law enforcement agencies. The official was appointed to the full-time position of adviser to the director without applying the procedures provided for during the appointment to the corresponding positions in the SE Defense Procurement Agency.
Tamerlan Vagabov is an Azerbaijani businessman. He is the founder of the Ivy Group of companies, which deals with projects in the field of education, sports, and IT technologies. The offices of this group of companies are located, in addition to Baku, in Kyiv and Prague.
It should be noted that Vagabov previously worked at the General Secretariat of Interpol in France, the US Atlantic Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. He has a master's degree from Georgetown University and the US Naval Academy.
In Ukraine, he worked as a foreign adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and head of the Center for Reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Recently, Vagabov criticized the head of the ATZ, Maryna Bezrukova, accusing her of failing to fulfill state contracts for the supply of ammunition for a total of UAH 25 billion.
According to the interlocutor, Vagabov, having such impressive work experience in various fields and different countries, can be an agent of foreign special services or cooperate with them.
"This fact poses a threat to the country's national security, as Vagabov had access to critical information during arms purchases," the interlocutor admitted.
