Former Deputy Head of the State Consumer Service Olga Shevchenko was at the Center for Criminal Proceedings - she is suspected of negligence, which led to the loss of state property for more than one million hryvnias.
According to law enforcement officers, in August 2023, temporarily holding the position of head of service, Shevchenko signed documents that allowed to bring two premises in the Kiev region to the list of privatization objects. These objects were actually used by a veterinary unit at that time.
However, under the law, such real estate was not subject to privatization. As the investigation found out, the signature Shevchenko opened the road to illegal alienation of buildings that were critical for the work of the state structure. As a result, the veterinary unit was forced to move to the rented premises, which caused additional expenses from the budget.
According to preliminary estimates, the state has lost more than one million hryvnias, and Shevchenko now appears in the case under part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - official negligence, which led to grave consequences. She faces up to five years of restriction or imprisonment.
While investigative actions are ongoing, unofficially surrounded by the former officials say that she was allegedly "not aware of the real functional use of objects". At the same time, law enforcement officers have doubts about the chance of such actions.
