The National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) were transferred to the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court (VAKS) an indictment against the former deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Volodymyr Orlov. He is accused of corruption under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - demanding of undue benefits in particularly large amounts.
According to the investigation, in 2024, one of the private societies appealed to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration to rent 19 hectares of forest plot for recreational activities. Despite numerous appeals, the company could not obtain the necessary permits.
Subsequently, the representative of the company received a “proposal” from the deputy chairman of the Regional State Administration Vladimir Orlov. The official made a request to provide $ 200,000 for a positive resolution of the issue of allocation of the site into long -term use.
In May-June 2024, Orlov repeatedly repeated this requirement. At the end of May, he also noted that this issue requires coordination with the head of the Regional State Administration.
The indictment has already been transferred to the Supreme Anti -Corruption Court, where Orlov faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Corruption scandals among ODA officials are becoming more frequent, especially in the context of Ukraine's struggle with corruption as one of the key conditions for European integration.
