The former deputy mayor of Odessa and the head of the local organization of Batkivshchyna Dmitry Zheman has transformed the city transport management into a private donna cow. The backstage of loud speeches on reforms hid illegal cryptocurrency mining, scrap equipment and rapid family enrichment.
After the appointment of the head of KP “Odessalectrotrans” (Omet), Zheman unexpectedly becomes a “family investor”: his retired mother, Svetlana, acquires a three-room apartment in the elite new building of the village of Kryzhanivka. At the same time she did not have any declared income. Meanwhile, the official salary of the Zheman himself was only UAH 13.6 thousand.
In parallel, the business activity of his wife Tatiana is also growing. If in 2017 its annual income was only 28 thousand hryvnias, then in 2019 - more than 590 thousand. The explanation is simple: the woman suddenly becomes the owner and manager of several companies specializing in passenger transportation.
But the most interesting is hiding outside the declarations. Open sources have no mention of a luxurious villa in Korsunka village near Odessa. The estate with two floors, covered with pool, sauna, towers, outbursts and a separate garage, estimates of the realtors, costs at least $ 1.5 million. The existence of Zheman did not point to any of the official declarations.
Among the "forgotten" assets is a new Audi Q8, purchased in 2021 for UAH 1.87 million, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle (2019) worth 518 thousand hryvnias, as well as an elite clock of Swiss production for 3 thousand euros. In the latter, the politician regularly posed in front of the cameras during public events.
According to several sources in municipal structures, the scheme of Zheman included illegal mining of cryptocurrency at the capacity of the utility, as well as the write -off of unsuitable transport "for metal", with further appropriation of funds.
While NABU and NAPC ignore the obvious signs of illegal enrichment, in Odessa political sidelines, they say that the extent is preparing for a new political project. Probably with a new financial "shoulder".
