The court denied the former Deputy Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine Alexander Katsubi in viewing his sentence since 2017. The reason is the lack of new legally significant circumstances.
Katsuba - exfigrant Sergey Kurchenko - tried to cancel the sentence, which he was sentenced to participate in a criminal organization, theft of public funds in particularly large amounts and official forgery.
In 2012–2013, Katsuba helped Gas of Ukraine 2020 illegally seize fuel in the amount of more than UAH 450 million using fictitious purchases. His actions were qualified under four articles of the Criminal Code, including the creation of a criminal organization (Part 1 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code).
After the agreement with the Katsuba Prosecutor's Office, it compensated the state to UAH 100 million and received 1 year and 5 months of imprisonment. Thanks to the Savchenko Law, which enrolled the day in the pre -trial detention center for two, he released on the day of his sentence.
In 2024, Katsuba tried to challenge this sentence through a lawyer, stating that he gave a "under pressure" to avoid more severe punishment. However, the court stated that the agreement was voluntarily concluded in the presence of three lawyers, and there was no evidence of pressure.
The court also noted that the term of repayment of criminal record for a particularly serious corruption has not yet passed. According to the law, such a criminal record is only within 8 years, if the convicted person does not commit new crimes.
Oleksandr Katsuba is also mentioned in the Boyko's tower - overpayment of $ 300 million for drilling rigs for Chornomornaftogaz during Yanukovych. At that time, Katsuba held the position of deputy director of the company.
In addition, it is entered in the register of corrupt officials of the NAPC, and his family is closely linked to the Party of Regions. His father, Vladimir Katsuba, was the People's Deputy of the VII convocation, and his brother Sergei - former deputy head of Naftogaz and People's Deputy from the same party.
Despite refusing to watch the sentence, Katsuba remains an active businessman and co -owner of Katsuba Corporation.
