Former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Volodymyr Sivkovich, was informed of suspicion of treason. This information was made public in the official notification of the relevant department.
"Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion of treason to the former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Volodymyr Sivkovich," the announcement reads.
According to the bureau's statement, Sivkovych held multiple meetings with representatives of the Russian Federation and received instructions from the then Ukrainian authorities, in particular regarding the suppression of protest actions after Ukraine's refusal to associate with the European Union.
It is noted that after the beginning of the student protests on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Sivkovich actively implemented plans aimed at promoting the interests of the Russian Federation.
