The last tournament of the Grand Slam series this year, the US Open, continues to impress with the bright performances of Ukrainian tennis players. In the second round of the competition, the Ukrainian derby took place, in which Elina Svitolina confidently defeated her compatriot Angelina Kalina with a score of 6:1, 6:2.
This victory opened the way for Svitolina to the third round of the tournament, where she will face a serious test - a match with the current winner of the US Open, the American Coco Goff. Despite the difficulty of her next opponent, Svitolina is in excellent form and aims to continue her winning streak at the prestigious tournament.
Marta Kostyuk, another Ukrainian tennis player, also successfully passed the second round, beating the British Harriet Dart. The first set turned out to be very tense, ending in a tie-break with a score of 7:6(10) in favor of Kostyuk. In the second set, Marta significantly stepped up her game, winning it with a convincing score of 6:1.
In the third round, Marta Kostyuk will meet the American Emma Navarro, which promises to be another interesting confrontation.
